{"id":131276,"date":"2023-11-20T17:13:10","date_gmt":"2023-11-20T16:13:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacionih.es\/1-investigador-predoctoral-ecosistemas-litorales-no-conv-_fihac-41_2023\/"},"modified":"2024-03-01T13:30:23","modified_gmt":"2024-03-01T12:30:23","slug":"1-investigador-predoctoral-ecosistemas-litorales-no-conv-_fihac-41_2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fundacionih.es\/en\/1-investigador-predoctoral-ecosistemas-litorales-no-conv-_fihac-41_2023\/","title":{"rendered":"1 PREDOCTORAL RESEARCHER (Coastal Ecosystems) N\u00ba CONV._FIHAC\/41_2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='two_third'>\n\t\t\t\t\tIn the Coastal Ecosystems Research group of IHCantabria we are looking for a candidate to conduct a PhD thesis about the impact of the spread of invasive species in the distribution of coastal saltmarshes and their climate change mitigation potential (i.e. their role as Blue Carbon sinks).<\/p>\n<p>This PhD thesis is framed under the Project MITIGACC (PID2022-140237OB-I00) funded by the Spanish National Programme of Scientific and Technical research.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed project will combine fieldwork and experimental measurements, novel analytical techniques (e.g. pyrolysis; hyperspectral radiometry), remote sensing and numerical modelling techniques.\nThe PhD candidate will be based at the Environmental Hydraulics Institute, IHCantabria (Santander), a multidisciplinary research institution leader in the integrated management of socio-ecological water systems, associated to the University of Cantabria. The candidate will be supervised by Dr. In\u00e9s Mazarrasa and Dr. B\u00e1rbara Ondiviela.\nThe contract is for three years but could be extended to four years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Candidate\u2019s profile:<\/strong>\nWe are looking for highly motivated candidates with a strong background in marine ecology.
