Port Engineer
IHCantabria, through its Ports and Coastal Infrastructures group, has developed during the last years an important scientific-technical activity in the field of coastal and port engineering. It has promoted scientific excellence and its transfer with a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach, driving innovation to contribute to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), mainly SDG No. 9 with the aim of building resilient coastal and port infrastructures.
The successful candidate will join a young, dynamic, competitive and international environment, within the framework of a reference research centre, in constant growth, where he/she will develop a solid scientific-technical career linked to the development of disruptive methodologies for the implementation of innovative solutions that optimise the design and integrated management of ports.
The successful candidate will collaborate in cutting-edge projects, in collaboration with national and international sector leaders, in the development of the following activities:
– Integrated port design.
– Development of smart ports for ocean-meteorological risk management in port operations.
– Implementation of operational support systems for the construction of ports and singular maritime operations.
– Numerical modelling and experimental analysis of the hydrodynamics of coastal and port infrastructures.
– Probabilistic design of infrastructures.
The possession of a university Master’s degree specialising in coastal and port engineering is specifically required.
